Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Slice of Life Studios ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Constella mobile game ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We do not directly collect personally identifiable information such as your name, address, or phone number. The App and its third-party service providers may collect the following technical and gameplay data:
- Device information — model, OS version, language, country, screen size.
- Advertising ID — used to serve ads. You can reset or limit this in your Android device settings.
- Crash and diagnostic data — stack traces and device state at the time of a crash, used to fix bugs.
- Gameplay progress and preferences — levels completed, settings, in-game currency balance. Stored locally and, if you sign in, synced to the cloud.
- Account identifiers — if you sign in with Google, we receive an anonymous Google user ID (and your email, if you grant it).
- Purchase history — records of in-app purchases made through Google Play, processed by RevenueCat.
- User-generated content — if you publish a custom level, the level data and the name you give it are stored on our servers and visible to other players.
2. Third-Party Services and SDKs
The App integrates the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob — serves advertisements. May collect Advertising ID and device information. Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Games Services — provides Player ID for sign-in and account linking. Google Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Authentication (Google) — anonymous and Google-linked user accounts.
- Firebase Analytics (Google) — gameplay event analytics. Disabled if you decline analytics consent on first launch.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — crash reporting.
- Firebase Cloud Firestore (Google) — stores published user-generated levels and progress sync data.
- RevenueCat — validates and records in-app purchases. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Billing — processes payments for in-app purchases.
3. Advertising and Consent
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may use your Advertising ID to serve personalized ads.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) on first launch where you can accept or decline personalized advertising. You can change your choice at any time via the Privacy Settings in the App.
You can also opt out of personalized advertising entirely through your Android device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads → Reset advertising ID / Opt out of Ads Personalization).
4. How We Use Your Data
- To operate the App, save your progress, and sync between devices.
- To process and validate in-app purchases.
- To diagnose and fix crashes and bugs.
- To understand how players use the App so we can improve it.
- To serve advertisements (only with your consent where required).
- To display user-generated levels you choose to publish to the community.
5. Data Retention
- Local device data — stored until you uninstall the App or clear its data.
- Account and gameplay data — kept until you request deletion.
- Published user-generated levels — kept until you request deletion or remove the level.
- Purchase records — retained for up to 7 years as required by tax and consumer-protection laws.
- Crash logs — automatically deleted by Firebase Crashlytics after 90 days.
- Analytics data — retained for 14 months by default in Firebase Analytics.
6. Your Rights (GDPR — EU/UK/Switzerland)
If you are located in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected.
- Deletion — request that we delete your data (see Section 8).
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing for analytics or advertising.
- Withdraw consent — at any time via the App's Privacy Settings.
- Lodge a complaint — with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in Section 10.
7. Your Rights (CCPA — California)
California residents have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share.
- The right to delete personal information we hold about you.
- The right to opt out of the sale of personal information.
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
We do not sell your personal information. Third-party services such as AdMob may use Advertising IDs in ways that California law treats as a "sale" or "share." You can opt out at any time by declining personalized ads in the consent form, or by enabling "Limit Ad Tracking" in your Android device settings.
8. Data Deletion
Most game data is stored locally on your device. You can delete this data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing the app cache in your device settings.
To request deletion of data stored on our servers (account, published levels, sync progress), you can either:
- Use the in-app option: Settings → Delete Account & Data.
- Submit a request via our Data Deletion Request Page.
We process deletion requests within 7 business days. Note that purchase records may be retained where required by law.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email address below and we will promptly delete that information.
If you are between 13 and the age of digital consent in your country (16 in some EU member states), you should review this Policy with a parent or guardian before using the App.
10. Security
All data transmitted between the App and our service providers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Firebase services enforce server-side access controls so that your account data can only be read or modified by you. We rely on the security practices of Google and RevenueCat for the data they process on our behalf.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify affected users and the relevant authorities as required by law.
11. International Data Transfers
Our service providers (Google, RevenueCat) operate servers in the United States and other countries. By using the App, you understand that your data may be transferred to and processed in these countries, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. Standard contractual clauses are used where required by GDPR.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via the Constella website.
13. Contact Us
